Events were a very important part of City Trial in the original Kirby Air Ride, and Kirby Air Riders is no different. City Trial has a plethora of Field Events taking place all over Skyah: some returning for the previous game, some updated versions of old events, and some events are entirely new. Here is every Field Event in City Trial mode in Kirby Air Riders.
City Trial Field Events
Please note that if more events are revealed this list will be updated, but this is every event that I have seen so far.
Short Race
Tagline: A Short Race is underway! Hurry to Reception!
New or Returning: New
About: Players have the choice to compete in a short race around the City Trial map, becoming enclosed on a track. Players that arrive at the starting line early will gain extra power-ups. You will also receive more power ups depending on your finishing place. Short races are optional, and everyone in them will appear as ghosts to you if you choose not to partake.
Dustup Derby
Tagline: A Dustup Derby is underway! Hurry to Reception!
New or Returning: New
About: Players have the choice to compete, becoming enclosed in the Colosseum to battle. This is the battle equivalent to Short Race. Players that arrive at the starting line early will gain extra power-ups. You will also receive more power ups depending on your finishing place. Dustup Derbies are optional, and everyone in them will appear as ghosts to you if you choose not to participate

Band of Tacs
Tagline: A band of Tacs stole items!
New or Returning: Updated returning event
About: A bunch of Tacs, anitem hoarding NPC, will appear around the City Trial map. Attack them to get power-ups or food, and defeat them to get more.
Mysterious Flying Machine
Tagline: A mysterious flying machine is approaching!
New or Returning: Returning
About: A big UFO flies across Skyah with power ups on it, and an All Up in the center. All Ups are a power-up that raises every stat at once.
Huge, Unidentified Pillars
Tagline: Huge, unidentified pillars appeared!
New or Returning: Updated returning event
About: Pillars with glowing detailing on them appear all over the city. Use Quick Spin or another offensive ability to break them. A plethora of power-ups and items will explode out upon destruction
Tiny Riders
Tagline: Everyone is tiny!
New or Returning: New
About: All players and CPUs become tiny
Portal Rush
Tagline: Rush to the portals! Hurry, hurry!
New or Returning: New
About: Rush through a series of portals to get as many power-ups as you can
Quick Spins
Tagline: Can’t stop doing Quick Spins!
New or Returning: New
About: All players Quick Spin by default and cannot stop until the event ends
Cracked Boxes
Tagline: Cracked boxes appeared all over!
New or Returning: New
About: Nearly all boxes appear cracked, so it is easier to break them open and get what’s inside
Cracked Boxes
Tagline: Rare boxes appeared all over!
New or Returning: New
About: Some rare boxes appear for a short amount of time, take longer to break, and contain a lot more items inside of them
Rare Boxes
Tagline: A bunch of rare boxes appeared! Beware of fakes!
New or Returning: New
About: Many rare boxes appear all over, but around half of them of fakes that explode! Avoid the boxes with a slight different pattern and reddish hue

Gigantic Items
Tagline: Items became gigantic!

About: All items become huge, player remain the same size
Secret Room
Tagline: A secret room opened!
New or Returning: Returning
About: One of the secret rooms in the city has opened, and is filled with a bunch of one particular item type. It will be a random item each time the event occurs
Kracko
Tagline: Kracko’s thundered on the scene!
New or Returning: New
About: Kracko flies in and attacks with lightning abilities
Dyna Blade
Tagline: The mysterious bird Dyna Blade’s swooping in!
New or Returning: Returning
About: Aim for Dyna Blade’s head to get items, you get injured if you touch her anywhere else, and you may even get trampled
Meteors
Tagline: DANGER! Meteors incoming!
New or Returning: Returning
About: Huge flaming meteors fall from the sky, avoid them as they deal a lot of damage
Easy Flight
Tagline: Machines now fly more easily!
New or Returning: New
About: Machines will fly more easily during the event, it is almost like a low gravity mode
Gordos
Tagline: Gordos are falling from the sky!
New or Returning: New
About: Similar to the meteor event, Gordos (giant spiky ball enemies) will fall from the sky, but unlike with the meteors, they will stay in place on the ground, damaging anyone who touches one until the event ends
Reward Rings
Tagline: Reward rings appeared!
New or Returning: New
About: More flight rings appear in the sky in a golden color, fly through them to get power ups for the duration of the event, as they will disappear after
Same Item in Boxes
Tagline: No fair! Most boxes contain the same item!
New or Returning: Returning
About: Boxes will spin, and all spinning boxes will contain copies of the same one item. It will be a random item each time the event occurs
Treasure Chest
Tagline: A locked treasure chest appeared somewhere
New or Returning: New
About: A key and a treasure chest have appeared somewhere on the map! Find the key and then the chest to get the items inside. The chest can open from either side
Grand Wheelie
Tagline: Grand Wheelie’s roaring down the road
New or Returning: New
About: Face off against Grand Wheelie
UFOs
Tagline: Everyone’s riding UFOs
New or Returning: New
About: Everyone has the UFO ability for the duration of this event
Wild Legendary Machine
Tagline: A wild Legendary machine appeared
New or Returning: New
About: An riderless Legendary Machine is moving on it’s own around Skyah and acting erratically! It will be either Dragoon or Hydra
Battleship Halberd
Tagline: The Battleship Halberd’s on the attack
New or Returning: New
About: The Battleship Halberd flies over the city
Destroy Machines
Tagline: Destroy vacant machines!
New or Returning: New
About: Find machines without riders, you get a bunch of items for every one you destroy by any means (quick spin, copy ability, item, etc.)
