With Splatoon 3 launching in September 2022, Nintendo has plenty of new information to share on the title. During the August 10 Splatoon Direct, there was plenty to see on the upcoming title. One of the most exciting aspects of Splatoon is its weaponry, which had a whole segment dedicated to it in this Direct.
Find out what weapons you can use this time in Nintendo’s premiere ink-shooting multiplayer title.
New Splatoon 3 Standard Weapons

Standard Weapons are your main form of attack in Splatoon 3. In addition to the weapons from previous Splatoon games, players can get their hands on several new toys this time around.
Stringers

Charge a bow-like ink gun to shoot precise streams across the stage in this Splatlands exclusive gear. The longer you charge a shot, the farther your ink goes!
Splatana Wiper

Send ink blades flying across the stage by swinging. Charge your swing to shoot ink further. Get in close with a charged slash to decimate your opponents.

New Splatoon 3 Special Weapons

Special Weapons are powerful ultimate attacks that can turn the tide in Splatoon battles. Unlike standard weapons, Special Weapons pair with specific weapon sets, so find the set that best fits your style.
Tacticooler

The Tacticooler spawns a fridge on the field with drinks inside. Each of these items comes with unique effects. Some increase speed while others boost other stats. Tacticoolers spawn with four items, so let your teammates have a few!
Wave Breaker

The Wave Breaker shoots pulses around it. These pulses mark enemy players while inflicting damage. This item is great for holding down territory, but clever enemies can easily avoid it.
Reefslider

The Reefslider builds up a charge before slamming into opponents in a straight line. Once this weapon reaches the end of its route, it explodes and hits other players and turf.
Familiar special attacks return in Splatoon 3 as well, with the following seeing confirmation in the Spaltoon Direct:
- Tenta Missiles
- Inkjet
- Ink Storm
- Ultra Stamp
- Booyah Bomb
In addition to the weapons shown above, the Splatoon Research Team promises regular updates that add more gear and pairings for two years following the Splatoon 3’s release.
