Final Fantasy XIV DPS
Because the DPS class is the largest in Final Fantasy, the classes are separated by subsets. You can see each DPS type below.
Melee DPS
Melee DPS gets up close with enemies to deal damage. Unlike the other DPS classes, nothing stands between them and the enemy. These fighters are exceptionally skilled at quick, successive attacks on opponents.

- Monk
- Dragoon
- Ninja
- Samurai
- Reaper*
Physical Ranged DPS
Physical Ranged DPS use weapons with range to damage foes. This DPS sect is adept at inflicting sustained damage but can also support allies with various abilities. If you want versatility with your DPS class, consider these fighters.

- Bard
- Machinist
- Dancer*
Magical Ranged DPS
The masters of the mystic arts use magic from a distance in battle. Mages in Final Fantasy XIV are particularly powerful when they get some room to cast spells. Magical Ranged DPS is the subset for you if you like summons, explosions, or flashy outfits.

- Black Mage
- Summoner*
- Red Mage
- Blue Mage (Limited Job)
There are plenty of options to choose from in Final Fantasy XIV. Because characters can swap classes on the fly, you can try all these combat classes on the same character. Experiment with each type and see what fits your playstyle best.
