FFXIV: All new content in Patch 6.3

There's plenty planned for Final Fantasy XIV in January.

Square Enix continues to improve FFXIV with substantial updates in between major expansions. Though players won’t have a new expansion to play until the second half of 2023, there’s still new content just around the corner! Patch 6.3 for FFXIV brings plenty of new additions you’ll want to read up on before the update drops.

FFXIV Patch 6.3: Gods Revel, Lands Tremble launches Tuesday, January 10, 2023. Players can expect the following changes when the expansion drops during the new year.

    • Additional wards for all residential areas
      • Six regular wards and six subdivisions
        • 1,800 new plots per world
    • Planned for sale by lottery
    • Housing unavailable for purchase in the following worlds at this time
      • Dynamis DC (Halicarnassus, Maduin, Marilith, Seraph)
      • Chaos DC (Phantom, Sagittarius)

    • Portraits now display when using the Duty Finder.
      • Only party members’ portraits are displayed 24-person duties.
    • Expansion of available actions when using fashion accessories.
    • Cast glamours and dye retainer equipment without removing it
    • Cast glamours on your own equipment directly from your retainer’s inventory
    • Filter newly added items at Sundry Splendors vendors
    • Automatically open umbrella when rain is detected
    • Entrust duplicates of stackable items to your retainer

General

  • Adjustments to usability for certain actions

Paladin

  • Significant adjustments extending to action rotations
  • Changes should help deal burst damage by adjusting action efficiency and rotations.
  • Improved versatility by decreasing reliance on Damage Over Time
  • Improving the usability of certain defensive abilities
  • Rotations shortened to accommodate high-powered actions
  • Damage over time effect for Goring Blade and Blade of Valor removed; Potency adjusted
  • Divine Might is now applied after weaponskill combos, allowing for enhanced Holy Spirit execution without casting.
  • Holy Sheltron‘s effect changed to reduce damage taken, enhancing defensive capabilities against damage over time.
  • Bulwark ability returns, now revamped with increased defensive capability.
  • Utility of several other actions and combos adjusted.

  • Ultimate Duty #5: The Omega Protocol (Patch 6.31)
    • Releases two weeks after Patch 6.3
    • Players must first complete Abyssos: The Eighth Circle (Savage)
  • Hildibrand Adventures (Patch 6.35)
  • New Tribal Quests (Patch 6.35)
    • The Loporrits—For Disciples of the Hand (Crafting)
  • Deep Dungeon #3: Eureka Orthos (Patch 6.35)
    • Players must complete Endwalker MSQ and reach floor 50 in Palace of the Dead to participate.
    • Level 81+
    • Players start at level 81 in Deep Dungeon.
    • Rules identical to other Deep Dungeons.
    • Entry available for groups of 1-4 players.
    • Unlock the quest by speaking to Koh Rabntah in Mor Dhona
      • But I Hardly Noah and The Gift of Archmagus quests removed with update 6.35.
  • Crafting & Gathering Updates
    • Tool Enhancement Quests: Splendorous Tools (Patch 6.35)
      • Players must complete the Endwalker MSQ and the Disciples of the Land/Hand quest “The Crystalline Mean.”
      • Users must also unlock the Boutique of Splendors by speaking with Mowen in Eulmore.
  • Additional Manderville Weapons (Patch 6.35)
