Octopath Traveler 2: The best Secondary Class for Osvald

Study the ways of holy magic.

In Octopath Traveler 2, eight travelers from different walks of life band together for an adventure. Each member of your party sports a unique Primary Class, and Osvald takes on the role of Scholar in this title. While you can’t change the Primary Class for the main cast, you can add a Secondary class to each of your allies. Before you equip a new class for Osvald, find out which one works best for this academic.

Osvald’s Secondary Class: Cleric

An excellent Secondary Class for Osvald is the Cleric. Because Osvald already focuses on magic as a Scholar, choosing another mystic class can help cover Osvald’s weaknesses. While Clerics concentrate on healing, they also use light magic, one of the few elements Osvald doesn’t have as a Scholar. Since most attacks for both classes are magic focused, they complement each other well.

Where to Find the Cleric License

Before you can equip the Cleric Secondary Class, you’ll need to find a guild master to give you a license. Head to Crestlands-Borderfall and look for a large church at the end of a bridge in the woods. Look for the building shown below:

Once inside, head to the back of the chapel and talk to the woman behind the pulpit to unlock the Cleric Secondary Class. Initially, only one party member can have the Cleric Secondary Class, but players can get more licenses by doing missions for the guild leader.
