Overwatch 2’s Reveal Event offered vital information on the upcoming hero shooter. Overwatch 2 offered a sneak peek during Summer Game Fest, but that was just the beginning. Blizzard shared more of what players can expect in October when the game launches on all platforms. Here are the key points from the Blizzard showcase.

Overwatch 2 Reveal Event Announcements
The standout changes players can expect when Overwatch 2 launches are shown below, and a link to the Junker Queen Origin Story. Each of the changes below goes live on October 4:

- 5v5 replaces 6v6
- Orisa rework
- No more loot boxes
- Battle Pass replaces loot boxes
- Maps now include day-night variations
- Seasonal Updates every nine weeks
- 3D Audio and Dolby Atmos integration
- 25,000 new voice lines
- Weapon Charms
- Junker Queen Origin Story
- The Wastelander Cinematic
Coming October 4
The following changes launch along with Season 1 on Overwatch 2’s release.

- Three new heroes (Sojourn, Junker Queen, Kiriko)
- Six new maps (including Rio and Portugal)
- New game mode (Push)
- 30+ new skins
- New Mythic skin
Coming December 6
Season 2 launches on December 6. You can expect several more changes after Season 1 ends.

- New tank hero and map
- 30+ new skins
- New Mythic skin
Overwatch 2: 2023 and Beyond
While Season 3 and beyond aren’t set in stone yet, Blizzard confirmed more updates are coming. You can check which changes will come starting in 2023 below:
