Plenty of Pokemon return for trainers to catch in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, including Ampharos, the Light Pokemon. Finding a favorite for your team is great, but it’s even better if they boast peak performance. Make sure you know the best natures for Ampharos before you get too attached to any you catch in the wild. Here are the standout natures for this Electric Pokemon.
Best Natures for Ampharos
Nature | Effects |
---|---|
Modest | +Special Attack/-Attack |
Timid | +Speed/-Attack |
Because Ampharos excels at Special Attacks, it’s best to build around natures that improve this stat. The Modest nature improves the Special Attack of this Pokemon, but the Attack stat takes a hit. Thankfully, Ampharos won’t use many physical moves, so this is a worthy tradeoff. If you’d want to raise Ampharos’s poor speed, the Timid nature amps it up at the cost of Attack stats and might make it quick enough to outpace some lumbering opponents.

Worst Natures for Ampharos
There are other options if you don’t feel like grinding to find the best version of Ampharos. So long as you avoid the following natures on your hunt for this partner Pokemon, you’re sure to make it through to the Pokemon League.
Nature | Effects |
---|---|
Adamant | +Attack/-Special Attack |
Jolly | +Speed/-Special Attack |
Impish | +Defense/-Special Attack |
As a Special Attack Pokemon, Ampharos should avoid any nature that lowers this critical stat. Adamant is the worst pairing because it lowers Special Attack and raises the Attack stat, which is pretty poor for this Electric type. While the Jolly nature’s Speed boost is excellent, that change isn’t worth the hit to Special Attack. Likewise, Impish also lowers Special Attack, this time in exchange for a Defense boost. Each of these options is weak for different reasons. We suggest getting a better fit for battle if you find an Ampharos with the natures here.
Once you have an option that shirks the list of stinkers, you’re ready to head out and take on the Paldea region!
