Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: Best Natures for Dipplin

What a sweetie.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet‘s first DLC, The Teal Mask, is here, bringing several new Pokemon. One addition to the Pokemon roster is the sweet and sticky Dipplin. Find out the best natures to get your Dipplin ready for battle.

Best Natures for Dipplin

NatureEffects
Bold+Defense/-Attack
Modest+Special Attack/-Attack

Dipplin’s best stats are its Defense and its Special Attack. You’ll want to invest in either the Bold or Modest natures to get the most out of this ally.

The Bold nature raises the Defense stat for Dipplin at the cost of the Attack stat. Since Dipplin is a Special Attacker, losing a few attack points won’t hurt it. Meanwhile, Modest nature raises the Special Attack for Dipplin, so if you want a bit more bang in your attacks, choose this option when searching for a partner.

Just as there are natures that improve the performance of Pokemon, some can cause issues. If you find out your Dipplin has either of the natures shown below, it may be time to head back out and grab another. You can also change the nature of a Pokemon by giving it a mint with the preferred nature, so if you find a Bold or Modest mint, give it to your favorite Dipplin.

NatureEffects
Lonely+Attack/-Defense
Adamant+Attack/-Special Attack

Because Dipplin’s best stats are its Defense and Special Attack, any nature that detracts from these isn’t ideal. The Lonely and Adamant natures take away from Dipplin’s best stats and give a boost that won’t help. Since a Special Attack user, an increase to Attack isn’t helpful.
