Best Natures for Gimmighoul

Because Gimmighoul has three excellent stats, it has various options to choose from. These options only expand as it evolves, so build around its eventual evolution with one of two builds.
To get the most out of Gimmighoul, you’ll need to evolve it, as its final form, Gholdengo, has far better stats. To evolve Gimmighoul, you’ll need to collect 999 Gimmighoul coins during your journey through Paldea. After a catch, these coins drop from the Chest Form, and players can collect more coins from the Roaming Form Gimmighoul scattered around Paldea.
Offensive Build
Nature | Effects |
---|---|
Modest | +Special Attack/-Attack |
Timid | +Speed/-Attack |
Gimmighoul and Gholdengo work best as Special Attackers. This Pokemon is an impressive fighter, but to get the most out of attacks, the Modest nature is a must. You’ll get a boost to Special Attack with this nature.
To improve its Speed stat, you should go with Timid nature instead. Despite both of these natures lowering Attack, you’ll be fine, as that Attack stat is the worst option. During our playthrough, we chose the Modest nature.
Defensive Build
Nature | Effects |
---|---|
Bold | +Defense/-Attack |
Calm | +Special Defense/-Attack |
Though offensive is our preferred build for this Ghost Pokemon, you can also use it as a shield. If you want to make this ally a bastion for your team, the Bold and Calm natures are healthy options. The Bold nature will raise Defense while Calm amps Special Defense. Because these stats are almost identical, your choice is up to preference, even if we suggest Calm due to slightly lower base points.
Worst Natures for Gimmighoul

Though some natures are excellent, others are poor fits for Gimmighoul. If you find one of the natures below when hunting for your partner, we suggest finding another or changing its nature with mints. You can buy mints that change Pokemon nature at the Chansey Supply store in Montenevera for $20,000.
Offensive Build
Nature | Effects |
---|---|
Adamant | +Attack/-Special Attack |
Brave | +Attack/-Speed |
If you want to do some damage with this Pokemon, natures that focus on the Attack stat are a poor choice. If you find a nature that focuses on Attack, it’s better to avoid it, especially if it takes away from Special Attack or Speed. The Adamant nature draws from the Special Attack while the Brave nature impedes Speed, and it’s a tradeoff that isn’t worth your time.
Defensive Build
Nature | Effects |
---|---|
Lonely | +Attack/-Defense |
Naughty | +Attack/-Special Defense |
For those trying to get a defensive Gimmighoul, the Lonely and Naughty natures are the worst options. Each up the Attack stat and remove points from Defense or Special Defense. Since neither form of this Ghost Pokemon can use Attack, it’s not worth paying attention to.
