All Pokemon trainers aim to catch and add these creatures to their team, but those to be the best use only the most powerful Pokemon. Finding the best Pokemon requires players to hunt down those with the best natures. Natures determine which stats get boosts, and every Pokemon has one. Depending on your team member, you’ll need a specific nature. Make sure your Haunter and Gengar have the best stats possible by getting the nature that suits them.
Best Natures for Haunter and Gengar
Nature | Effects |
---|---|
Timid | +Speed/-Attack |
Modest | +Special Attack/-Attack |
Gengar is a glass cannon. It hits hard, but it’s likely to fall fast if it can’t get an attack off first. Thankfully, Gengar and Haunter have high speed, making their odds of going first in battle favorable. If you’d like to boost the speed stat even further, you’ll need a Timid nature. Because Gengar doesn’t use physical attacks, lowering the Attack stat is inconsequential. If you’d instead pour more stats into Special Attack for improved power, we recommend the Modest nature instead.

Worst Natures for Haunter and Gengar
While having the above natures is ideal when searching for a partner, avoiding the worst natures is an okay middle ground. If you find a Haunter or Gengar with the following natures, it’s best to keep looking.
Nature | Effects |
---|---|
Brave | +Attack/-Speed |
Adamant | +Attack/-Special Attack |
Because Gengar’s Special Attack is one of its most important stats, you’ll want to avoid lowering it at all costs. Therefore, we strongly advise against grabbing a Haunter or Gengar with Brave or Adamant nature. If you’ve avoided these natures, you’re set to continue your journey through Paldea, even if you don’t have the best nature in the game.
