Best Natures for Iron Valiant

Its strong stat pool gives Iron Valiant plenty of options when making a build. We suggest focusing on either an Attack build or an all-around build when shaping your new ally. See which natures work best for each build below.

Physical Attack Build

NatureEffects
Adamant+Attack/-Special Attack
Jolly+Speed/-Special Attack

If you want to fashion an Attack build for your Iron Valiant, you have two options: Adamant and Jolly. Adamant nature raises the Attack stat at the cost of Special Attack stat points. You won’t have the same freedom an all-around build offers, but your Attack stat will outclass a wide array of Iron Valiant’s enemies.

The Jolly nature is another solid option if you want to make your partner a bit faster in a fight. During our time in Scarlet and Violet, we made our Iron Valiant with the Jolly nature. You won’t hit as hard as you would with the Adamant nature, but you’ll be even faster than most other Pokemon on the field. Because Iron Valiant has such a high Attack stat, it may be worth putting your points elsewhere.

All-Around Attack Build

NatureEffects
Modest+Special Attack/-Attack
Timid+Speed/-Attack

The all-around Attack build is more your speed if you want to make a partner with a more rounded set of options. The Modest nature will bring the Special Attack stat up while pulling the Attack stat down. This stat set will make the two stats nearly identical in value, giving you several choices when facing others. We suggest going with the Modest nature if you plan to make an all-around fighter out of this new Pokemon.

If you want to up the Speed stat for this fighter without taking points out of the Special Attack stat, the Timid nature is an option that should serve you well. Timid nature takes points out of the Attack stat and aids the Speed stat in the process. You won’t hit as hard, but You’ll still have that Special Attack option in your back pocket this way.

Worst Natures for Iron Valiant

Just like there are natures from which Iron Valiant draws power, some are poor options that lower its potential. If you find an Iron Valiant with any of the natures below, we suggest finding a new partner. If you’d rather stick with the partner you have, you should change its nature by using a mint. Mints can be bought at the Chansey Supply store in Montenevera and cost $20,000.

Physical Attack Build

NatureEffects
Modest+Special Attack/-Attack
Quiet+Special Attack/-Speed

If you’re building an Attack focused Iron Valiant, the worst options will lower your Attack or Speed while boosting Special Attack. Steer clear of the Modest and Quiet natures when building Iron Valiant, as they’ll put points in areas you don’t need to focus on. You’ll still have an Effective Partner with either of these natures, but they won’t hit as hard as they could if you focused your energy on another nature.

All-Around Attack Build

NatureEffects
Adamant+Attack/-Special Attack
Careful+Special Defense/-Special Attack

With the all-around Attack build, you’ll want to avoid any nature that lowers Special Attack. Since this stat is already lower than the Attack stat by default, further impacting it will rule out your ability to use each attack type interchangeably. The worst offenders here are the Adamant and Careful natures. Adamant works best for a physical Attack build, and the Careful nature focuses on the worst stat at Iron Valiant’s disposal: Special Defense. It’s a waste of stat points that you could work with in other areas.
