Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: Best Natures for Poltchageist

Time to spill the tea.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet‘s Teal Mask DLC introduces several new Pokemon to find and collect, including a version of a ghastly teacup. This new creature, Poltchageist, is a Grass/Ghost hybrid that can aid any trainer in battle, provided they have the best natures for this creature. Find out what works best for Poltchageist here!

Players who want to use Poltchageist have three choices when farming for natures. Your choice depends on what type of tea-holding ally you’d like to build.

Those who want to focus on offense should choose the Modest nature, as it boosts Poltchageist’s best stat, Special Attack. This nature also lowers the Attack stat, but because that’s the worst stat in this Pokemon’s arsenal, that negative is no big deal.

The Bold nature is a better option to build around Poltchageist’s Defense stat. This nature helps build a Pokemon balanced around offense and defense. Like the Modest nature, Bold takes points away from the Attack stat.

If you’re focused on improving Poltchageist’s middling Speed stat, the Timid nature is your best bet. You won’t have the fastest Pokemon on the field, but this should help you outpace some other Pokemon with unremarkable Speed stats. The Timid nature also lowers from the Attack stat.

Just like several natures make Poltchageist a better fighter, some can make it worse. If you find your Pokemon has one of the natures below, we suggest searching for a new ally out in the wild.

Brave+Attack/-Speed
Lonely+Attack/-Defense

Because the Attack stat is Poltchageist’s worst, any nature that boosts it is a waste. This is especially true if that boost comes at the cost of one of its key stats. The Adamant, Brave, and Lonely natures boost the Attack stat in exchange for power from its three most important stats: Special Attack, Speed, and Defense.
