Defense Build

NatureEffects
Bold+Defense/-Attack
Impish+Defense/-Special Attack

Those aiming to build a Defense centered Scream Tail should put points into the stat at the cost of either Attack or Special Attack. Because both Attack and Special Attack have identical stats, which you choose is up to preference. The Bold nature will lower the Attack stat, and the Impish nature decreases Special Attack.

Special Defense Build

NatureEffects
Calm+Special Defense/-Attack
Careful+Special Defense/-Special Attack

Scream Tail’s best stat is its Special Defense, and putting points here should help it take a few more hits before falling in battle. Like the Defense builds, you’ll have to choose between lower Attack and Special Attack when forging this creature. The Calm nature lowers the Attack stat while the Careful nature takes power from Special Attacks. During our playthrough, we went with the Calm nature and used Special Attacks as our offensive measure.

Speed Build

NatureEffects
Timid+Speed/-Attack
Jolly+Speed/-Special Attack

Your last option when building Scream Tail focuses on its second-best stat: Speed. Those who want to put points into Speed and outpace their opponents can choose one of two options. As with the other builds, you’ll need to choose between dropping Attack and Special Attack. Timid will tank Attack, and Jolly hurts Special Attack.

Worst Natures for Scream Tail

While some natures work well with Scream Tail, others are poor choices destined to hurt its effectiveness in battle. Dodge the natures we show below when building your Scream Tail. If you find a Scream Tail with the natures below, you can search for another or change its nature using a mint. Players can buy mints in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet at the Chansey Supply store in Montenevera, but they cost $20,000 each. I hope you have deep pockets.

Defense Build

NatureEffects
Lonely+Attack/-Defense
Mild+Special Attack/-Defense

Any choice that takes points away from the Defense stat is the worst choice for a Scream Tail build of this stature. Stay away from options that focus on boosting Attack and Special Attack and lower the Defense stat, as they’re the worst options. While searching for the right fit, avoid the Lonely and Mild natures since they’ll hurt this crucial Scream Tail stat.

Special Defense Build

NatureEffects
Naughty+Attack/-Special Defense
Rash+Special Attack/-Special Defense

The worst choice for the Special Defense build will take points out of this crucial stat, giving you a boon that won’t match Scream Tail’s stats. The Naughty and Rash natures are the worst choices for this build. Since the Attack and Special Attack stats are so much lower than Special Defense stats with Scream Tail, you’ll want to avoid them at all costs.

Speed Build

NatureEffects
Brave+Attack/-Speed
Quiet+Special Attack/-Speed

The worst thing you can do for a Speed build takes points out of the Speed stat. For this reason, we suggest avoiding natures like Brave and Quiet. Because these natures upgrade the worst stats at Scream Tail’s disposal, it’s not worth the effort, especially when that choice hurts your chance to outpace others.
