Pokemon Scarlet and Violet offer plenty of options for players to add to their Paldea region team. If you want to rock the competition, there’s no better choice than Stonjourner. This weighty Pokemon is a great attacker and defender, but if you want to make the most of him, you should know the best natures to pair with it. Find out what works best with this ally before you settle on a partner.
Best Natures for Stonjourner
Because Stonjourner is adept at offense and defense, which type of partner you build is up to you. Find out what natures work best for each build type below.
Offensive Build
Nature | Effects |
---|---|
Adamant | +Attack/-Special Attack |
Jolly | +Speed/-Special Attack |
If you want to make a Stonjourner centered around Attack, you’ll want to choose either the Adamant or Jolly nature.
Adamant nature raises the Attack stat of Stonjourner, and since the Defense of this Pokemon is already so high, it helps to build a balanced ally. You’ll lose some Special Attack stat points, but since this is the worst stat for this Pokemon, it’s no big deal. We chose this nature when building our Stonjourner.
If you’d rather boost Stonjourner’s middling Speed stat, the Jolly nature is a solid second option. Like the Adamant nature, you’ll lose some Special Attack points, which is inconsequential. Choosing this option will let your Pokemon outpace other slower enemies, but don’t expect it to be the fastest in the ring. Quicker opponents will blitz this Pokemon with ease.
Defense Build
Nature | Effects |
---|---|
Impish | +Defense/-Special Attack |
The Impish nature is the best bet for those who would instead build around the Defense stat for Stonjourner. This nature improves the Defense stat at the cost of Special Attack, which won’t matter much.

Worst Natures for Stonjourner
Just as several natures are a boon to Stonjourner, some of them can hurt its performance. If you find your Stonjourner has any of the options below, we suggest swapping it out for another. If you’d rather keep your ally, try switching its nature with a mint that mimics one of the best stats shown above. Mints can swap the characters and stats of any Pokemon. Find them at any Chansey Supply Shop in Paldea.
Offensive Build
Nature | Effects |
---|---|
Modest | +Special Attack/-Attack |
Quiet | +Special Attack/-Speed |
Because the Special Attack stat is the worst choice for Stonjourner, any nature that boosts that stat is less than ideal. That’s especially true for natures that lower essential stats. Modest lowers the Attack stat for Stonjourner while increasing Special Attack. Quiet offers the same boost, but lowers Speed instead, making it just as poor a choice.
Defensive Build
Nature | Effects |
---|---|
Mild | +Special Attack/-Defense |
If you’re trying to build a defensive Stonjourner, the Mild nature is your worst nightmare. This nature lowers Defense stats while raising Special Attack. A lose-lose scenario sure to tank your performance in battle.
