Since Wo-Chien has a varied stat pool, you can choose to build an offensive or defensive fighter. Whatever you choose is up to you, but focus on the proper stat boosts.

Offensive Build

NatureEffects
Modest+Special Attack/-Attack
Timid+Speed/-Attack

Wo-Chien’s best attack stat is its Special Attack, so you’ll want to put your energy there. The Modest nature will give an amp to this stat while taking away from the Attack stat. Because this Pokemon has a far weaker Attack stat, it’s worth the tradeoff. If you want to make this ally a bit faster, you can use a Timid nature instead. You’ll have more Speed but lower Attack this way.

Defensive Build

NatureEffects
Calm+Special Defense/-Attack
Bold+Defense/-Attack

While the Attack option is viable for Wo-Chien, its Defensive build is far better. As a Special Defense specialist, the Calm nature best fits this Pokemon. You’ll lower Attack this time, but that’s not a big deal. If you want to round out the Defense stat, you could also go with the Bold nature. Either option will do; it’s just a matter of preference.

Worst Natures for Wo-Chien

Despite several natures being an excellent fit for this Pokemon, you should avoid some when looking for an ally. These are the worst options for Wo-Chien, so if you find one with these stats, we suggest looking for another or swapping the nature out with a mint. Buy mints to swap stats at the Chansey Supply store in Montenevera for $20,000 each.

Offensive Build

NatureEffects
Adamant+Attack/-Special Attack
Brave+Attack/-Speed

Because Wo-Chien needs the Special Attack stat to perform in fights, you don’t want any nature that lowers that stat. Natures like Adamant lower Special Attack while boosting Attack, a stat that isn’t useful for this Pokemon. The Brave nature gives the same bonus but takes points off of Speed, and you’ll need every point you can get for this slower fighter.

Defensive Build

NatureEffects
Naughty+Attack/-Special Defense
Lonely+Attack/-Defense

If you want to avoid hurting your Defense with Wo-Chien, you should avoid the Naughty and Lonely natures, as they focus more on Attack while taking away from Defense stats. Naughty stretches the Special Defense stat thin, and Lonely denigrates Defense.
