Tears of the Kingdom: How to Disassemble Gear (without breaking it)

Break it down! Son and done!

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom lets players pair any two items together with the Fuse mechanic, and it’s incredible…until you accidentally fuse your favorite weapon with a vital resource. If you want to take these two items apart without destroying one, you’ll need to use the Disassemble feature, which can be performed by Pelison. Find out where to find the blue-collar goron who can save gear for you.

To disassemble items, you’ll need to talk to Pelison. He’s an NPC located in Tarrey Town, the village Link helped build in Breath of the Wild.

Tarrey Town lies in Lake Akkala. You’ll find it southeast of Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower at the following coordinates: (3993, 1633, 0128). Head over the long bridge to find a cul-de-sac of shops, houses, and facilities. As soon as you enter the village, take a right and walk over to the adorable little Goron with the hard hat on.

Once you talk to Pelison, he’ll explain that he separates items without destroying them for a price. Pelison’s a little businessman! He’s gotta get paid.

Pelison asks for 20 rupees for each set of items he disassembles, so if you’re willing to part with the cash, select Break it down!

Next, choose any weapon or shield with an attachment to separate by pressing A while highlighting it. Items that haven’t been fused are greyed out on this screen.

Collect Your Items

After he’s separated your fused items, Pelison places each component in the Collection Area. Head to the Collection Area to pick up your items and add them to your inventory again.
