Scarletite isn't an easy resource to find, but completing hunts will help you earn it.

Players can get the Scarletite resource from rare and powerful enemies like those on the Hunt Board in the Hideaway. Fastitocalon from the ‘A Hill to Die On’ hunt and Dozmare the Griffin are two low-level hunts that can help you secure this resource early on.

Important note: Not all the enemies from the Hunt Board drop Scarletite, but many of them do.

Is it Monster Exclusive? How to Tell

When you travel to the Black Hammer, you can check if the items you’re missing are monster/hunt drops. If the item in the Materials list in the Craft or Reinforce menu shares the icon shown next to Gelatinous Mass, it’s a monster-exclusive drop.

If it lacks this symbol, there are other ways to find the resource, be it through chests, shops, or overworld drops. Scarletite is one of the many items available through other means in Final Fantasy XVI. Even if it’s much easier to find from monsters, there are different ways to secure the resource.

One way to get rare items is as a reward for missions in the main story and side quests. If you are short on Scarletite, try playing more of the main game. I have more than I know what to do with at the 70% mark in the main game.
