The best character designs in Fire Emblem Engage

Engage them... in combat.

Fire Emblem as a series has been carried by its lovable casts of characters, and Fire Emblem Engage is no exception. While some fans were not the biggest fans of the more brightly colored cast of characters, we can’t get enough. The Fire Emblem game nearest and dearest to my heart is Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and seeing a main series game filled with that much color again, if not more, is refreshing.

Beyond that, so many of the characters of their own unique styles that stand out from the crowd. Here are the 15 best character designs in Fire Emblem Engage.

Best Fire Emblem Engage Character Designs

There are so many amazing character designs, that trimming it down for a top 10 list was just too hard. So instead, we went for a top 15 list. Let’s take a look.

15. Yunaka

Country: Brodia

Yunaka’s design may be a little plain, but her witchy vibe and cutout designs on her outfit got her into our top 15 by the skin of her teeth.

14. Alcryst

Country: Brodia

Every one of these lists needs a sad looking emo boy, and this list’s is Alcryst. Even if he isn’t the best dressed, his stylish hair got him a spot on this list.

13 & 12. Alear

Country: Lythos

When this protagonist was first shown, there was a lot on controversy around their design. People saying that they looked like a toothpaste or soda mascot… but I actually love it. It’s different and stands out from the other protagonists.

11. Kagetsu

Kagetsu is just beautiful. If there is a beautiful man, he will make the list. Those are the rules.

10. Fogado

Now we enter the top 10. Fogado has great style, and his feathered sleeves and collar definitely add that little bit of extra flair.

9. Lapis

Country: Brodia

Lapis is an interesting character design, because from the neck up she is a little generic looking, but her armor is really cool. It almost looks more sci-fi than fantasy.

8. Chloé

Country: Firene

Invoking a variant of the previous rule: if there is a beautiful woman, she will make the list.

7. Veyle

Country: Unknown

Veyle’s character design is truly one of my favorites. The feathered look is so cool, and it looks fantastic with her hair.

6. Zelkov

Country: Elusia

Zelkov may be a little plain looking compared to the top 5, but actually really like his design a lot. I love the key around his neck, and I definitely want that jacket. Also, he is sexy and I want to kiss him.

5. Ivy

Country: Elusia

Welcome to the top 5. Ivy is a straight up baddie. Her style is unique, and the headpiece is so interesting. I warred back and forth on whether Ivy would be 5th or 6th, but in the end is was the headpiece that pushed her into this top-tier spot.

4. Panette

Country: Solm

I actually had never seen Panette before I started researching this article, and her design just blew me away. There are things I would tweak, but the goth aesthetic really makes her stand out. She has the best promo image hands down, but her 3D model could be a bit better, landing her in 4th.

3. Rosado

Country: Elusia

Femboys. I live and breathe femboys. If you ever see a list like this from me and there is not a femboy on it, either the game doesn’t have one, or I have been replaced with an imposter. Rosado is just so lovable, and his color scheme is very cute. He is best boy, and 3rd overall.

2. Timerra

Country: Solm

Timerra was the first character I saw besides the protagonists, and she definitely caught my eye. Her color scheme and bubbly outfit and accessories are so cute. She almost has a magical girl type vibe to her, and I can’t wait to see all of the fan art. She definitely deserves the 2nd place spot.

1. Hortensia

And here it is, the moment you have been waiting for. Hortensia is everything. The hair, the dress, the heart on her cheek. It’s alternative, it’s glam, it’s camp. Hortensia actually invented fashion tbh. It’s her world. We are just living in it. Congratulations to Hortensia for being over the top enough to earn herself the number one spot on this list.
