For several events in a row, Apex Legends players have been complaining about the presence of new cosmetics without a new Limited Time Mode (LTM). Luckily, the dry spell has ended in the Celestial Sunrise Collection Event. The event itself is themed around Lunar New Year, celebrating the Year of the Rabbit. Let’s take a look at Hardcore Royale, as well as the other content that the Celestial Sunrise Collection Event has to offer.
Hardcore Royale LTM
Hardcore Royale is a more difficult version of the base Apex Legends Trios Battle Royale mode. The main difference is everyone only has white armor and no helmets. The armor cannot be upgraded. The full list of defining differences are as follows:
- Limited HUD
- White Armor Only
- No Helmets
- Armor doesn’t spawn in Deathboxes (No Armor Swapping)
- Ring starts at max Damage
Players will need to be at least level 20 to play Hardcore Royale, just like with Ranked Leagues. The normal Duos and Trios rotations will still be active while Hardcore Royale is live, as it is a traditional LTM, not a Takeover.

Other Celestial Sunrise Content
The Celestial Sunrise Collection Event also has a new Prize Tracker, featuring rabbit-themed Lunar New Year limited-time cosmetics, including a new weapon skin. There is also a full event collection, featuring the usual 24 items. If you buy out the whole collection, you will also unlock the Jadeite Retribution Reactive Peacekeeper Skin.
After the Celestial Sunrise Collection Event ends, another new LTM will be added to Apex Legends: Date Night. An LTM based around Duos and healing yourself and your allies, so keep an eye out for that. Rumor has it another new LTM will be on the way after that too.
The Celestial Sunrise Collection Event runs in Apex Legends from January 24 to February 7.
