Bayonetta 3 now launching on October 28 for Nintendo Switch

The Umbra Witch returns in October.

Bayonetta 3 is one of the most anticipated releases for the Nintendo Switch. The title saw a debut trailer in 2017 but has seen little press since. Over four years after its announcement, fans finally know when the Umbra Witch’s third title launches.

Bayonetta 3: What We Learned July 13

Bayonetta 3 launches exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on October 28, 2022. Though the wait has been long, it’s almost over. Platinum Games promises a return to form with its latest release. Shoot, slash, and shred enemies with signature attacks and summons in this hack-and-slash adventure.

While players have several more months until the title launches, a new trailer is available now. Check out the new trailer below to see the game in action. Here, you’ll get a preview of the story, gameplay, and cinematics in this upcoming Switch title. In this latest entry, the Umbra Witch has new abilities to master and enemies to tackle.

Players can also take control of a new character. Viola, a witch in training, uses sword skills to slash enemies to bits, but some may recognize her as the mysterious character from the last Bayonetta 3 trailer. The trailer didn’t say much about Viola, but we’re sure to learn more in the coming months. Other familiar faces appear in the latest trailer as well, like Luka, Jeanne, and Rodin.

Bayonetta will face off against Homunculi in her latest outing. It’s up to the Umbra Witch to dispose of these manufactured bioweapons. It might be challenging for any other protagonist, but when you’re a witch like Bayonetta, you beat the baddies and look damn good doing it.

Despite the long development cycle, Bayonetta 3 promises to be just as impressive as the titles before it. Pre-orders are up now on the Nintendo eShop.
