In 2022, Square Enix started a Weapon Design Contest for the two newest classes in the game. Players could submit original designs for review several months ago for a chance to get their designs put in FFXIV. On December 13, 2022, Square Enix posted the winners on the Final Fantasy XIV Lodestone. The Reaper and Sage both had two winners that will be in the game soon. FFXIV Reaper Design Contest Winners
As with the previous Weapon Design Contests, the team at Square Enix chose one serious design and another that was silly when choosing the victors for Reaper weaponry.

FFXIV Sage Design Contest Winners
As with the Reaper choices, the Sage weapons saw victors highlighting two types of designs. This keeps the pool consistent and gives designers of all types a chance to shine.
