MultiVersus gets a Season 1 snapshot at EVO 2022

MultiVersus is ready to show us what it's got!

With MultiVersus appearing at EVO 2022, players saw some upcoming content for the WB platform fighter. Tony Huynh, game director for MultiVersus, shared some upcoming content at the competitive show. Here’s what you can expect in the coming weeks.

While those present at the show watching the live stream saw the news first, WB quickly posted info on the game’s official Twitter page. Season 1 promises more content for casual and hardcore players. While Huynh showed no date for the coming season after its recent delay, Player First Games promised more details soon.

The standouts from this announcement are, of course, Rick and Morty. This iconic duo will be the first new characters to join the roster after LeBron James. Morty Smith joins the MultiVersus cast first, coming at the start of Season 1. Rick Sanchez also joins the game during the freshman season, though he’s expected at a later date.

Though Rick and Morty are the first characters in Season 1, they won’t be the last. Tony Huynh also revealed that more characters are coming, though he didn’t say what players could expect in the coming months.

Not only are new characters like Rick and Morty coming during Season One, but new cosmetics, a classic Arcade Mode, and a Ranked mode join the game’s offerings. According to Multiversusie, a reputable leaker in the community, Arcade Mode offers three levels, and each difficulty has its own icon, as shown below:

The future of MultiVersus looks bright, and despite the bugs and glitches, it’s one of our favorite games of 2022.
