MultiVersus Launch Trailer Now Live; Highlights Jason and Agent Smith

WB's platform fighter is finally back.

It’s been over a year since MultiVersus‘ Open Beta, and now the game is just one week away from launching again. To celebrate this upcoming release, Player First Games dropped a new launch trailer for the free-to-play, 2v2-focused platform fighter on their official YouTube channel.

The “Stars Collide. Pies Fly” Launch Trailer highlights the game’s May 28 release date and its growing cast of wacky characters fighting in pairs. The huge surprises shown here are Jason from the Friday the 13th franchise and Agent Smith from The Matrix.

Players can fight with their favorite WB characters online, locally, or even in the new Rifts mode, a PvE-focused challenge they can take on alone or with a friend. It’s just one of the many upgrades and additions that come with the game’s full release.

Aside from the flagship characters already in MultiVersus, the standout addition for the upcoming Season 1 is DC’s The Joker, voiced by Mark Hamill himself. Hamill appears in countless Batman projects, including Batman the Animated Series and the Batman Arkham series. The Clown Prince of Crime fights unlike any other, as shown in the “Send in the Clowns!” Gameplay Trailer.

Apart from expected characters like The Joker, some surprise additions, like Banana Guard, find their way into the game. This obscure side character from Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time uses a spear in battle and serves as the game’s joke character (much to his dismay).

With over 25 characters and more on the way, MultiVersus will offer an exciting and evolving experience as time goes on.

MultiVersus launches on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X now using Unreal Engine 5.
