Overwatch 2 gives out free items after a lousy launch

Enjoy these sorry presents from Blizzard at the end of October.

If you played Overwatch 2 during its launch week, you know it was one of the bumpiest experiences of 2022. After the disastrous launch of Overwatch 2, the team at Blizzard Entertainment addressed these issues, promising players a few rewards to make up for the game’s inadequate debut.

After issuing an official statement, Blizzard promised users a few free items for their trouble. Of the free things. The following rewards are available to all players who log into Overwatch 2 between October 25 and the end of Overwatch 2 Season 1.

  • Cursed Captain Reaper Legendary Skin
  • Health Pack Weapon Charm
  • 2x Match XP Weekends

Once players claim the above items for Overwatch 2, they will have access to them for as long as they play the game. The skin and weapon charm will hit player accounts the first time they log in during the redemption period.

Of the items going out to all players during the first season of Overwatch 2, the most notable is the brand-new Captain Reaper Legendary Skin. Unlike many Legendary skins in Overwatch 2, this skin debuted in 2022.

After Overwatch 2 stabilizes, Blizzard plans to update players on the official dates for the Double XP weekends. During the Double XP event, players will get twice as much experience toward completing their Battle Pass tiers. The bonus XP goes to Premium Battle Pass and Free Battle Pass owners.
