Pokemon Legends Z-A takes place during the days of the Lumiose City’s development. For those who played Pokemon X and Y, you’ll remember this as the game’s central city. There’s even a holographic blueprint to showcase it’s eventual layout.

Legends Z-A’s trailer showed a quick look at some of the Pokemon with holograms on display in the familiar region, with many of them being Gen VI standouts like Hawlucha, Pyroar, Aegislash, and Sylveon.

The biggest surprise of the trailer, though, is the announcement that Mega Evolution is finally back in Pokemon games. The iconic mechanic saw a tease with the symbol associated with the Gen VI transformations.

The new Pokemon Legends title launches simultaneously in 2025, according to the trailer, which likely means it’ll launch on both the Nintendo Switch and its upcoming successor.
