Mortal Kombat 12, officially titled as Mortal Kombat 1, has finally been revealed. The game marks a new era for the series as Liu Kang, the Fire God, restarts the timeline completely. Every action doesn’t come without consequences, good or bad.

With Liu Kang out of the picture as the main character, it seems that either Kung Lao or Raiden—who appears to be human judging by the trailer—will be the new protagonist. We also got to see Kitana, Mileena, Sub-Zero, and Scorpion. These characters still have their iconic rivalries going on. Yep, not even Liu Kang’s godly powers could prevent Mileena and Kitana from hating each other.
However, they must put their differences aside as a familiar threat emerges: Shang Tsung. You can check out the trailer as well as some of the brutal cinematic fatalities below.
Mortal Kombat 1 is set to release on September 19 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC.
